Granted, this is a "spur ride", a somewhat traditional ritual among cavalrymen, which takes place within the safe confines of a Forward Operating Base (FOB). Still, there's just something not right about reflector belts and body armor...

ReplyDeleteYou'll be pleased to know I wrapped a reflector belt around one of my suitcases for my move last weekend. Looked very safe, all of a sudden, and would certainly be easily spotted in the dark.

ReplyDeleteIt used to be high speed to do a spur ride. Then you were even more bad-ass to actually deploy - to a WAR zone. NOW, you gotta do a spur ride IN a "war" zone. WTF.
ReplyDeleteFrom a civilian, I have a question of you rugged Army types. Wouldn't a reflector belt make it easier for the bad guys to see you? I mean, isn't that the whole point of camouflage?
