"The nation that will insist upon drawing a broad line of demarcation between the fighting man and the thinking man is liable to find its fighting done by fools and its thinking by cowards."

About my leave form...
Despite the fact that I had to participate in that most dreadful of military traditions this weekend--mandatory fun--I still found some time to finish a chapter or two in Chandler's book about Napoleon.
As it winds out, I discovered a fun fact about Le Petit Corporal. Did you know that during his first six years of service in the French Army, he spent a grand total of thirty-two months on leave?
Sounds like G.W. Bush.
