The luckiest 'Hawk crew alive

The crewmembers of these two MH-60R helicopters are lucky they didn't wind up taking a swim in Lake Tahoe.

A newspaper from San Diego has a few more details.  Suffice to say, it's difficult to say what caused the abrupt yaw, or what the pilots were doing over Lake Tahoe.  A military investigation is pending.

By the way, I agree with the lady filming the incident: I didn't think they could do this, either.

if the other one did it too, then it seems like they were doing it on purpose. maybe practicing something. seems like it would be a pretty nice skill to have. I'd love to see it from closer to see how much the wash from the rotors pushes the surface of the water down.

Well, It looks like it can be done.

I'm sure it does happen out there too. At least this crew knows how to handle the situation.

The combination of the down blast pushing the water away, plus the water pushing back on the body of the bird... ???

Or, that was one sneeze that will be remembered for a very long time.
