From the Department of Bizarre

A spokesperson for the 4th Brigade Combat Team of the 82nd Airborne Division apparently blessed off on the recent Lady Gaga "Telephone" video:

Fort Bragg soldiers whose goofy war-zone remake of a Lady Gaga video went viral over the weekend and soared to more than 3 million hits on YouTube have won a thumbs up from the brass.

"The brigade command team is happy to see that they also still have a good sense of humor and that morale is high," said Maj. Michelle Baldanza, a spokeswoman in Afghanistan for the division's 4th Brigade Combat Team via e-mail from Kandahar Air Field.

The soldiers have a challenging mission there, and they were just having a good time and "blowing off some steam in their downtime," Baldanza said.
As a former member of the 82nd Airborne Division, I should note that this is probably one of the tamest incidents in the 4th BCT's short history. Not long after the 4th BCT was constituted, we got this scandal. Then there was this one. (Both from the 2-508th, no less)

Is it just me, or doesn't that one paratrooper in the video look to be a heavy drop?

This video did upset me, because it is clear that this is some sort of maintenance company in a supply shed making videos and not repairing trucks. So when a vehicle got stuck at brigade for weeks because of a
"missing part" I am skeptical.

Just whining on my part
